Mainland High’s Mission: 

To develop young adults who are able to contribute to their communities and society by instilling in them the values of integrity, responsibility, and a life-long love of learning.

Grant Project Goal(s):

To inspire students toward aquaculture careers.

Immediate Objective(s):

To 1) construct a hard clam hatchery with locally sourced materials; 2) design and implement plans to culture the hard clam from seed to nursery; 3) follow the complete cycle from grow-out to market; and 4) increase awareness of the growing Florida bivalve aquaculture market to young students in an economically challenged region.
