DEREK FIGUEROA is the Chief Operating Officer for Seattle Fish Company, the oldest and largest purveyor of high-quality seafood in the Rocky Mountain region. Figueroa is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company, which has been in business for nearly 100 years. Figueroa is a tireless advocate for the seafood industry, both locally and nationally. He sits on the board and executive committee of the National Fisheries Institute, the advisory board for Sea Pact, and is a board member of the Colorado Restaurant Association’s, sitting on their executive committee. He also serves on the board of directors for Project Angel Heart, the Colorado Restaurant Association Education Foundation, and the Seafood Industry Research Fund. Figueroa holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Finance, as well as an Executive MBA, from the University of Colorado. Figueroa is passionate about seafood sustainability and takes enormous pride in being a founder and a continuing advisory member of Sea Pact. Sea Pact is the vehicle to effect real change in the seafood industry and the organization provides context and balance in our obligation to be stewards of the product we represent.
